The Phoenix record a bonus point win in very poor conditions

The referee deemed this match playable with the pitch looking more like a mud bath than a rugby pitch. Adam Morgan must lead the forwards stats with the amount of carries and he crossed the try line within 10 minutes to open the Treharris score. Dale Evans pinned the home side back with some precise kicking despite the weather. It was Wattstown who scored next to narrow the margin to 3-5.

Treharris put pressure on the homeside and Alun Williams stole the ball at a Wattstown scrum to cross the tryline with Dale Evans converting to make the score 3-12.

The highlight of the first half was a fine solo run by Adam Morgan, taken on by Rhys Davies who found Ricky Allsopp who crossed the whitewash or mudwash to make the half time score 3-17.

Steve Parry set the tone for the second half with a sniping run to secure the bonus point. Dale Evans converted 3-24.

Two further tries by Steve Parry with the highlight being a solo run from his own half took the Treharris points to 36. Wattstown scored a lovely try following a cross field kick to make the final score 8-36.
