The phoenix battled hard against a strong Cambrian side

It was a strong Cambrian side that turned up at the Millennium Park, with the visitors backs making some strong runs that we just could not contain.

The game opened with Dale Evans putting in some nice kicks to pin the visitors back but Cambrian showed their intent with some strong runnning from their back division.

It was a push over try on the 10 minute mark that saw Cambrian go in front. The visitors continued to pressure and on the half hour marked crossed for the second try.

Treharris started to put some pressure on the Cambrian defence and just before half time Ross Jones kicked a penalty.

Alun Williams and Connor Jones opened the second half with some nice solo runs in midfield but more pressure from  Cambrian saw Treharris concede a penalty on the 5 metre line and were punished by the visitors back row. Ross Jones doubled the score for the home side with a long range penalty just inside the half way line.

Cambrian continued to dominate and proved too strong, running in 2 further tries before the final whistle

Final Score: Treharris 6 Cambrian Welfare 33
