The Treharris team put in a gritty performance against a strong Aberdare side who demonstrated why they are second in the league. The home side opened the scoring with a penalty in the first 5 minutes and scored the first try following a charge down. Aberdare turned pressure into points and scored their second try of the game on the half hour mark. Treharris put some points on the board with a penalty just before the referee blew for half time. 15-3

A fine solo run by Steffan Starsky put Andrew Llewellyn through for Treharris first try. Aberdare proved too strong and some strong running from the backs saw the home side extend their lead. Treharris fought back with some determined play and managed to add to their try tally.
