The Phoenix back to winning ways

Treharris travelled to Llandaff North RFC determined to get back to winning ways. The coaches must have been pleased to field a strong side for this fixture with players returning from injury and others previously unavailable. The side was a mixture of our experienced squad and our youth playing their first senior season.

Treharris started strongly and the pressure showed with the Treharris forwards dominating the opening 15 minutes. It was the battling Adam Morgan who opened the scoring with a powerful drive taking some of the Llandaff defence over the try line-Daniel Parry converted.

It was Connor Jones who opened up the Llandaff defence for a well deserved try under the posts. Daniel Parry converted.

The Treharris team took the game to Llandaff with the forwards and backs combining to put pressure on the home side. Andrew Llewellyn scored his first of two tries when he just sliced through the defence-Daniel Parry converted.

An interception saw winger Daniel O'Neill run nearly the length of the pitch to score the well deserved and needed bonus point try. Daniel Parry had brought his kicking points and converted. 0-28.

Daniel Parry showed that he's not just a kicker and the full back made a fine jinking run to put Andrew Llewellyn  away for his second try which Daniel converted.

Llandaff got on the score sheet late in the game to make the score 7-35.

It was Treharris who finished the game with a penalty try which once again Daniel Parry converted.

Final score Llandaff North 7 Treharris 42
